Bridal Boudoir Photography
By Perth Photographer Mel Silva

When we think of weddings we think of wedding and engagement photos, but have you ever considered a Bridal Boudoir shoot? Bridal Boudoir Photography is becoming increasingly popular and it’s definitely something to consider leading up to your big day. The months leading up to your wedding are usually filled with a schedule to increase your overall health and well being as Brides want to feel their very best on their wedding day. So why not document this period of life feeling your absolute best with a Boudoir photo shoot.
The main reason behind a boudoir experience is 100% confidence building, however there are many other motivations to have intimate photos taken. You can view 5 reasons to do a Bridal Boudoir Shoot HERE on the official Brides.com website.

You don’t have to spend BIG on new lingerie pieces, because most Brides to be have these three staples for their wedding anyway:
1. White lingerie set for after the wedding
2. A gorgeous dressing gown for your “getting ready” photos on the wedding day
3. A veil (or I have one on hand for you)
Also bring your engagement ring to the Bridal Boudoir Photography shoot as well.
This isn’t to say you must wear white for a bridal boudoir shoot, or even wear a veil. It doesn’t have to be bridal themed at all. I usually shoot 2-3 outfits in a boudoir photography session, so you can bring a mix of items. For more inspiration on what to wear to a boudoir shoot see my Boudoir Outfit Guide Updated 2022. In the boudoir outfit guide I also list my favourite lingerie stores.
If you’re nervous about doing a bridal boudoir shoot (which I promise every woman is) you may find my blog article Boudoir Shoot Nerves to be helpful. It’s an interview between myself and a previous boudoir client. You can find more information about the entire boudoir experience on my main page called The Experience.

How Far Out should I book my Bridal Boudoir Photography Shoot?
A minimum of 6 weeks is recommended. This allows plenty of time for editing the images, and designing and ordering your printed luxury album. You can purchase digital images only for a quicker turnaround time. However shooting 4 weeks before your wedding day is recommended. Mel Silva Photography can be booked up months in advance, so don’t wait too long to enquire.
